This course is designed for clinicians who would like to improve their medical record keeping skills. During this intensive 2 day course, attendees will learn best practices which will ensure that their medical records meet standards, laws and regulations applicable to medical documentation. These skills will help improve medical care and help ensure accurate communications between care providers. Research indicates that up to one third of the disciplinary actions taken by Medical Boards are related to physician misprescribing practices. This intensive 2.5 day course is designed for physicians, dentists, and physician assistants in all specialties, who need or wish to increase their knowledge and ability to effectively prescribe and control medications without the potential for abuse. Learn proper prescribing practices and how best to document prescriptions for controlled substances. Learn to avoid common pitfalls including: inappropriate dispensing of medications from physician's offices, prescribing large amounts of narcotics at frequent intervals, or prescribing to family members, friends, or a person with a known history of substance abuse.
