Western Institute of Legal Medicine courses are not just valuable for physicians. Everyone with clinical duties, whether in a hospital, office, or group setting, needs a practical knowledge of the laws, requirements, and legal complications that apply to their clinical practice. Just one legal action due to lack of this knowledge can cost tens of thousands of dollars and can seriously harm a career. Non-physician clinicians are required to have much of this same knowledge whether they are:
- Nurse practitioners
- Physician assistants
- Clinical pharmacists
- Clinical psychologists
- Marriage and family therapists
The Western Institute of Legal Medicine offers special low rates to non-physicians who do not need the course as a licensing board requirement. Non-physicians may take one day of either the Medical Record Keeping course or the Prescribing Practices & Management of Chronic Pain & Substance Abuse course, or they may take all of either course depending on their needs. The one-day cost is only $199, and the full course cost is only $349.
Due to California Medical Board regulations, the Western Institute’s Practical Medical Ethics and Professionalism course is excluded from these offers.
